“Coffee smells like freshly ground heaven” – Jessi Lane Adams

“Chemically speaking, chocolate really is the world’s perfect food” ~ Michael Levine

I have a loving, healthy (okay, maybe slightly obsessive) relationship with coffee. Always have, always will. My late mom used to drink her coffee strong, black and sugar-free. I prefer a great cappuccino, with just the littlest bit of sugar. I’m rarely able to I never drive past a Vida e Caffe without stopping for a “mucho skinny cappuccino”. Coffee’s never affected my ability to fall asleep at night … I love it, it loves me. Simple.

Then there’s chocolate. Who DOESN’T love chocolate? Pictures of Cadbury’s new Bubbly slab have been doing the rounds on Instagram and, I won’t lie, it has me salivating like Pavlov’s dog each time I see one. Damn you, food tweets! Also, damn you amazing Cadbury’s Bubbly TVC! Have you seen this? AMAZING!

So, when I received an invitation to attend a coffee+chocolate 2BEANS event as a “VIP guest”, I couldn’t type “ERHMAHGERHD YES I’LL BE THERE” fast enough. In fact, I didn’t. I clicked on “Reply”, started with “Hi Sabr …” and then hit send, in a moment of utter excitement. After taking a deep breath (and a sip of my coffee), I pulled myself toward myself and replied, saying that I’d LOVE to join them.

On the day, I’ll stand a chance of winning:

On the day, Jeremy Maggs will chair a debate by a panel of chocolate and coffee experts. Not sure what the debate will actually be about. I imagine something along the lines of, “Chocolate is tasty. Coffee is delicious. Right, we’re all in agreement then? Great!” I guess there are chocolate gurus and coffee mavens, so I’ll report back on the debate after I’ve eaten all the chocolate and drunk all coffee listened to their views.

After this debate, the runner up in Australia’s recent MasterChef, Callum Hann, will perform a live cooking demonstration, using some of the coffee and chocolate available at the 2BEAN event. YUM! I almost lost my marbles watching (and then tasting!) Willie Harcourt-Cooze‘s cooking demo at the Good Food & Wine Show a couple of years ago, so I’m really looking forward to watching Callum cook too!

If you’re as excited about this as I am (read as: if you’re drooling over your laptop and experiencing a burning desire for CHOCOLATE), then 2BEANS – Chocolate Coffee Invitation and book your ticket ASAP! I can’t wait!
